Hi there:

Quick question. I just received the UCSD secondary, and they still are asking for a 2 page autobiography. The thing is, I applied as an August MCATer last year and wrote a pretty good one for it. Should I keep most of the original essay and maybe change it up a tiny bit, or would admissions think I'm taking the easy way out? I guess in general, is it a bad idea to reuse old essays? Thanks for your input!

Was it the rejection letter that led u to proclaim that ur essay is a pretty good one? write a new one.

if you thought it was good, then keep it the same and just add reflections upon your reapplicant status.

Well... thanks for your input. And if rejection letters spoke the truth about everything, I might as well dig a big hole and bury myself in it. Let's hope you never face the dilemma of reapplying. 👍

i think you should touch it up and include your experience of applying and what has changed since then.. research? volunteering?

best of luck- im leaving that secondary till i finish UCDavis and UCIrvine alone
