UCSF and UOP in review

So according to my status - UCSF and UOP are now reviewing my application. They are my top schools. I am planning on re-taking the DAT in a few weeks and I got an A in my summer OChem class. Should I let them know this info before they make a decision? And if so, how?

Just call the school. That's what I did. They then asked for an unofficial transcript to be sent to them. I always just call the school when I have those questions to get accurate information. GL

Be quick about it for UCSF. I was under review and three days later it updated to invited for interview. However for UOP some have said that under review could take a long time. I called UOP today and told them I wasn't going to retake the dat. I will let you know how quickly they change my under review to ....?

Just talked to admissions, and found out pre-Dec 1 interviews should all be given out by the end of next week. They already sent out 70 invites and will send out about 45 more.

Critic2 - did UOP ask you to retake the DAT or you just offered up the info?

And, I'm worried that in the next week or so, before I retake, that I might get rejected from UCSF and UOP. I'm not sure I'm even going to do any better the 2nd time around, but is there anyway to have them reconsider me if I get higher scores?

🙁 Me too. I want to fly out to the Bay Area. I love the Bay Area and also have some friends attending UOP's dental program.

Sort of. The school called me early about two months ago. It was the week I took my DAT. I guess they liked everything else. The problem was with my ochem and reading comp. She said they usually like to see those higher and said if I didn't retake I might only be considered for an alternate spot post Dec. Now I know like most of you that this pretty much means your out of luck. I was planning on retaking until I received 7 interviews and more on the way I hope. I applied to 33 schools. I guess I under estimated the strength of my application. The problem is that my retake date is next month. Currently I'm taking 18 units have a family and plan on flying at least three times in the month of Oct to more interviews. The clincher was when UCSF gave me an interview. I understand UOP and what they are looking for but I just couldn't risk doing worse on my dat after my previous interviews went so well. Also nobody has even mentioned a retake except UOP. I explained this to admissions and told them to please review my file as is. She understood and said she would put a notes in my file explaining everything. Just waiting to see how it all plays out. I have to consider all the schools very carefully. Not holding my breath though on UOP. I can't let one school jeopardize my chances. Thats how I feel.
