ucsf any news?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I interviewed in November and I'm also waiting to hear back from UCSF. Please let us know as soon as you hear anything.

At our interview, they said it would be around the beginning of February.

That's what I was told also.

Call me UCSF! I am dying here.

Good luck to everyone who's waiting.

hmmm interesting.... my interview was in Nov, and I guess their stories don't match! I was secretly hoping that this week was gonna bring about the big news... did you all send deposits elsewhere?

i interviewed there dec 3rd and they said they're not going to respond to anyone until after all the interviews...so i guess we have to wait?

tomorrow is the last interview for this month..after that they will send out some more acceptances according to bob mckenzie on my interview day.

i interviewed Nov 30. Bob and Dr. Betbeze both said that we should hear back end of Nov beginning of Feb.
Assuming we live in a logical world I'm figuring we should start to expect news next week. If tomorrow is the last interview date and the dead line for deposits is passed even if someone sent in a post-marked 15th letter (which is highly unlikely), then by Monday they should have a direct idea of how many spots they have left. So then I'm thinking like Wed-Thur is when it's logical to expect a call. I know I'm prolly stating the obvious...

yeah...there were four more interview dates in january, the last one being tomorrow (jan 18) and supposedly they're meeting on jan 25 to decide.

they said you can hear anywhere from jan 25-first week of feb, but they seem like they're trying to hurry as much as possible

wow, well informed. Have you guys made deposits elsewhere already?

Woot. Toofbrush's joining us next year at UCSF. Glad to have you, bro. We'll kick it next year..

UCSF is done with their interviews, today was the last day. The admission committee will get together on the 25th and those who got accepted should be hearing something between January 26 to 1st week of Feb.

Hi laundry,
Congrats on your acceptance!! May I ask when you had your interview? Thank you.

haha..never mind laundry..I found my answer on the same thread..silly me.
congrats again.

wow congrats...and you got a call from the dean too? haha i figured it would just be the dir. of admissions calling or something.

nice! congrats to you! i have been hoping my phone rings, but nothing... can anyone be rejected at this point or if you were able to hang on for a couple of months without getting rejected you are either going to make the waitlist or get in?

How did the last interview, 01/18, go? Did the interview reinforce you decision about going to UCSF or you are now considering your other options?

Tom, I'm not sure who you were asking. I interviewed on 30 Nov. But yea, I'm gonna go to UCSF. I just loved the spirit there. I actually just told my interviewer that aside from the number of reasons why I applied to SF it just felt right here aftervisiting the school.

I was referring to those who had their interview on the 14th and 18th. I know UCSF is a great school but I haven't decided for sure. I am still considering UCLA and UoP. UCLA also has a lot to offer. Having talked to a number of students from UCLA, I can tell you that UCLA does not have some of the major problems that they had two years ago. Their program got a lot better. Secondly, they place a lot of their students to specialties compare to UCSF. And what I like the most about UoP is the fact that they are a 3 year program, and they do develop great general practitioners.

So you like UCLA because they produce lots of specialists, and you like UoP because they produce lots of generalists? TomTom, do you even know what tha hell you want?

You are absolutely right. I am not 100% sure if I want to specialize or go to general practice. That's why I am having hard time deciding the right school for me.

You speak as if each school only produces practioners of one type.
