The UCSF Psoriasis and Skin Treatment Center currently has an opening for a full-time, clinical research fellow to begin ASAP. The fellowship is designed for physicians who have at least completed an internship year and who are thus eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in California. We currently do not have the capacity to support international medical graduates.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Wilson Liao, Dr. Tina Bhutani, and Dr. John Koo, the fellow will gain a thorough understanding of the design and conduct of clinical trials in addition to learning the art of using various therapeutic modalities in the treatment of psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and other chronic dermatologic conditions. Salary and benefits are commensurate with the fellow's PGY level. Acceptance into this fellowship has no direct bearing on the chance of being accepted to the UCSF Dermatology residency program. However, the clinical research and the specialized clinical experience gained during the fellowship are likely to greatly enhance one's credentials and previous fellows have been successful in the dermatology match. Even for those who have already been accepted into a residency program, this is a unique opportunity to gain expertise in clinical research and phototherapy, both of which are likely to be of enormous benefit in the clinical practice of dermatology.

Please direct all inquiries and CV’s to Dr. Tina Bhutani at [email protected].

I already checked the California board of medicine about the license to practice there, the new requirements are complete 36 months of clinical work in an AGCME program to request a license, so one yr of internship it's insufficient. I am not sure about how we can get that research position.
