evening peeps. i'm getting ready to submit my application to dental schools ... again. i'm hoping to get bites somewhere and have been told by friends to network, but boy was i naive. i had the chance to get meet someone affiliated with UCSF through friends who told me that he has an in with admissions. older research guy. i learned that he's just some research admin guy and when asked about the process, pretended to know but didn't. i heard they have a new director of admissions ... so why is he giving us advice about applying?! strange. i dunno about you guys but he gave me the creeps. what administrator would be hanging out with college students? be careful and remember to talk to people in admissions not people who have nothing to do with the process.

maybe he's just trying to help...? I mean the dude is affiliated with the admission process. probably doesn't have the latest info. I know someone that's affiliated with admission for Harvard business school and she knows a little bit about Harvard med school. but like I don't expect her to know everything that goes on in there

Yes, they got a new director of admissions about halfway through last cycle. If it was Roger Mraz ... Roger is a wonderful guy who has been around a long time. He is quite close to students because he cares. He is a wealth of knowledge about the goings-ons of dental schools. He's a wonderful ambassador for the school and is literally award-winning in his position.
