I recently had my UCSF interview and was notified a month or so in advanced that I was invited; my status also changed from "under review" to "invited for interview" when I was notified that I had been invited, but after my interview my AADSAS changed from "invited for interview" BACK to "under review"....

what on earth does that mean?? does anyone know? did anyone experience this with another school's status change?? HELP!

It means they didn't reject you after the interview. Either 1) you will receive an acceptance, or 2) they're keeping you around to compare you with other applicants.

At this stage in the game, after the interview there are 2 options....under review, or rejection.

No way! Is this just your educated guess, or are you certain of it? Cause my status went from Invited to Under Review, which is great news if what your saying is true.

Has anyone been rejected post-interview yet from UCSF?

Well...the committee needs to review your interview don't they? So now they are tallying up your points from all the aspects of your app. Jeez guys, don't freak out...you got interviews at UCSF! I'm sure you will all get into a great school, just think positive. 🙂

so then it doesnt mean that Ive dodged an immediate rejection.......? 🙁

Cause this was my understanding of the above made claims:

A. If your invited for interview, then AADSAS will change to "Invited for Interview"

B1. Post-Interview: If they hate you, then you'll receive an "Application Denied" note
B2. Post-Interview: If they like you and want to continue considering you, then you're status will change to "Under Review" again.

So is the above true, or is it that even those who are going to be rejected will receive the "Under Review" change for a while before they are notified?

I guess my question is more rhetorical, since I highly doubt anyone can definitively, with absolute certainty, answer the question (unless you work in the admission office at UCSF, in which case an answer would be much appreciated.)

man... you could probably tell Im super serious (borderline crazy) about getting to the bottom of this... lolol

This is similar case as ASDOH. I completed the interview at ASDOH and got letter saying that they are continuously reviewing my application.

Doesn't that make sense? After they interviewed you, you're going under review again to see if they want to take you? That makes perfect sense to me. Of course, not every school does that on AADSAS. You guys need to stop freaking out about every little detail you see.

Here is something you might be interested, I am not sure if it's 100% TRUE so don't take my word to heart. If your status on AADSAS change from ANYTHING to just BLANK the night of Nov 30th. You're probably going to see the word OFFER MADE the very next morning on Dec 1st. I am not sure how accurate that is but that's the case for me when I was applying.

Can anyone else verify this?? That would be super cool if it was true 🙂

If you look at the C/O 2014 acceptance sticky, you'll see a lot of people with that experience -- 'blanked' on November 30th (and freaking out about it, not knowing what it means) and then accepted December 1st. It looks like not everyone who's accepted Dec 1 gets blanked, but a good number do.

Oh shizzle nuts..... I may actually get to know my faith a few hours earlier than planned?!!!

Thats great news!

lol, you're right...i probably shouldn't freak myself out too much. there really isn't much I can do at this point...i just thought it was bizarre. for some reason, I thought they would've kept it at "invited for interview" until they made a decision of rejection or acceptance. It didn't seem very practical to dedicate manpower to changing the status from "invited for interview" back to under review. but I guess I should be appreciative that UCSF is very on top of updating us where they are in reviewing our apps.

man.. i hear that the dean personally gives you a call. thats some classy way right there.
btw aren't they pretty much done giving out interview invites for pre december?
