So... I got an interview from UCSF!!!

I am super excited and nervous as it is my top choice.
But the weird thing is they scheduled me for an interview and they didnt give me a choice so I ended up with a date I had a ochem lab quiz on.

So I emailed them to ask for a reschedule.

is that bad? should i just have taken what they assigned me? and to make it worse, i was so nervous i forgot to attach the syllabus for my class documenting the quiz date TWICE

so now i just bombarded them with emails looking totally stupid and unprofessional
did i screw myself in anyway?

besides that does anyone know the rate of interviews/acceptance letters?

thanks guys

I think for UCSF it's about 1/3 acceptance rate once you have an interview.

I think you should try rescheduling your quiz first. Then, if that's not possible, try rescheduling the interview.

I wish you luck dude, I hate it when things like this happen.

an Ochem lab Quiz vs UCSF interview🙄

an Ochem lab Quiz vs UCSF interview🙄

This should not have been a difficult decision to make. One hand, you're talking about a QUIZ in an Ochem lab. On the other hand, you're talking about interviewing at one of the best dental schools in the US.

I would have tried to move the quiz instead of the interview.

Good luck!

BELIEVE ME!
I tried to move that quiz (worth 5% of total grade)

but besides that i also have a mol bio midterm the day after which is worth 40% (of total grade) and i couldn't move that either and its in the morning after my interview

but anyway do you think this will reflect negatively?
any points off or anything like that?

besides the 1/3 anybody else heard of the interview/acceptance letter ratio?

thanks guys

uhh whats the point of getting good grades on quizzes and tests? to get in dental school right...? That actually happened to me and I asked my prof. if I can take the test earlier or later, she was like no way unless I can reschedule my interview.. I was like WTFFFF.....flfasdfasf are u serious?? Does she know how hard I worked to get an interview??? i just laughed and walked away. Im about to drop that weak class.

Why dont you ask them if you can take it earlier? If not can you go to the dept head and tell them your situation?

At my undergrad, most profs were understanding and there was a policy for job/grad school interviews. It usually resulted in me taking the tests earlier, not later.
