Hey Guys,

So I am going to the UCSF Interview on January 31st and was wondering if anyone from the Roseville/Folsom/Sacramento area is going? Would love to travel with another interviewee.

Also, for those who have interviewed, based on Interview Feedback, would you suggest revewing secondary app and previous questions when going?

Good luck everyone👍

there has got to be SOMEone out there..anyone interview yet and have suggestions?

hey,

ive got an interview on the 27th. wondering the same thing

The interview is closed file, so your interviewers know nothing about you. You'll want to know how to bring up your accomplishments. They might just say "tell me about yourself." You can review your app but you won't have to explain any anomalies because they will not have seen your application. You'll have a faculty and student interview, and they are loosely timed. You'll probably have about 25 minutes with the faculty and 15 - 20 with the student.

Good luck.

I'll be interviewing on the 31st as well.

Anyone hear back from the 1/27 interview group??:scared:

The Jan 27 group was told that we would know sometime during or after the 3rd week of Feb (but before the end of Feb). So hopefully next week or week after that?:xf:

I was hoping they just said that so we wouldnt bug them and they would decide sooner🙂

More importantly, I was wondering if anyone had been rejected becasue James said they would be sending those out right away... Wanted to see if I dodged a bullet!

Thanks!

Yeah, it'll probably be a little while longer, I'm not expecting to hear back for a few more days at least, if not a week or two.

Waiting sucks...

correction, getting rejected sucks. Which I just did.

me too man; i got the same email today
i'm seriously pissed off

just leading me on
if they're going to reject me why not just do it sooner so I can move on instead of hoping or planning

seriously effed up
bring us this far, this late in the cycle and not be put on waitlist?
i mean at least the waitlist or alternate list or something

its just rude and plain stupid
i'm boycotting that entire city until they make it right
i'm seriously ready to break down doors and go off

Try to be somewhat professional in this professional forum. With this attitude, it seems to me that UCSF has made the right decision.
Instead of blaming it on UCSF, blame yourself. Try focusing on what YOU did wrong at the interview and think of a way to present yourself better for the next intervew.

Yep. I'm kind of pissed that I'm not even on the waitlist...from the interview day it sounded like there would be plenty of spots open. Mostly I'm just mad that they jerked me around and made me fly out there.

And come on man, nobody made you do anything. This is all a choice that we as pre-dents have taken, to enter into this difficult screening process. Best of luck.

You are right donuteater
My bad
But if u cud step back on the capital YOU crap
It seems like an attack on how hard ive worked
You might have gotten in to sf but I did not so if u cud try to understand nd be a little sensitive that wud be cool

You dont even know what ive been through this past year

Hey guys,
Sorry to hear about your rejections...I can sympathize with you since I was in your same shoes about 2 weeks ago. I interviewed there early January and was part of the next round of rejections. I contacted my interviewers and both said they wrote the highest remarks possible on their evaluation sheets, but they were only a small part of the admissions process.

I think it basically came down to my stats not being on par with what they wanted...which made me wonder why I was invited for an interview in the first place. After a week of being down, I realized I just had to move on and try to make my application better. Best of luck to you guys.

I'm so sorry for your rejection. I'm worried now because I thought my interview couldn't have gone better but since it's a small portion of the process I may be in trouble! I thought it was a huge portion of the process... If try thought your stats were sub par then why waste either of your time interviewing. That's not cool! I hope you get in somewhere else🙂
I'm really worries now!!😕

Hey Guys who did not get in, I also got a rejection email the day before yesterday and am baffled.

I interviewed on Jan 31st (I was the Indian guy wearing a bright teal shirt and black tie for anyone who remembers lol) and thought it went really well. And yeah they did sound like they had plenty of open spots! Also, they said to give them 3 weeks or so, not one week!

I don't want to be cocky, but I usually do really well on interviews, and I got into both schools I interviewed at before. So I am right there with you guys who also got rejected!

For the rejected people (especially the surprised rejected people), what were your stats?

Well I was a re applicant with a 20 AA, 20 TS, and 22 PAT and 3.25 GPA. 250 hours shadowing, research, leadership and a bunch of other extracurriculars. Went to UCLA 😀

I interviewed in the last week of January and I still haven't heard anything yet. When I called in on Feb. 9th they said I will for sure here from them in the next two days.. but I didn't
anyone in the same boat?

Interview last week of January as well and haven't heard anything. Seems like they did 1 round of offers/denials and if I had to guess they will probably do another in a week or two. They said it would be mid/late feb. during the interview anyways.

Interviewed last week of January as well & haven't heard anything... I'm guessing they gave out all the remaining spots and they will probably give out a few more acceptances when they receive offer denials...

I called on Thursday and they said they haven't made all of their decisions yet and they hope to contact us within a week. My guess is that they offered all 88 seats and the rest of us that haven't heard anything are on the waitlist and they are ranking us now😕 But who really knows!

UCSF PUUULEASE call me😀

My guess is that they haven't even offered all their seats yet (I don't think they're done calling), but it's just a hunch. :xf:

Just so you don't feel bad. If any of you get on the waitlist...don't lose hope. Last year I think up to number 20 on the waitlist got in. Not sure if the class is filled yet though.

Just got waitlisted via email

Anyone know what the chances are of getting off the waitlist?

Yikes... I'm pretty far down the waitlist! Is there any deposit or commitment by accepting your spot on the waitlist, or is it just showing that you are still interested?

Just showing that you are interested.
I am also far down around 50. I won't keep my hopes up. I think last year it went up to 20. Getting to 50 = no way.
Thought I'd be more near the 10-20's.
