Hi:

I was wondering for those who have already interviewed at UCSF, can you share the "question of the day" with me? Thanks

i interviewed at ucsf 2 yrs ago. It was a closed interview meaning they didn't know ANYTHING about you. My interviewer didn't even know my name. When I went in, he asked me for my name and even asked me to spell it so he could write it down on his scratch paper.
Basically he asked me everything the supplemental app asked eg, tell me about any research you did, tell me about the extracurricular activities you did and if you held any officer position, tell me why you chose ucsf, why you want to be a dentist, any work experiences etc.
Oh, then they ask about your grades and stuff bc they don't know anything about that either. I think they even asked what my DAT scores were. 😛
Just read over your supp app before your interview.

Hi mini tooth:

Thanks for your reply, can you tell me what was your "question of the day?" The topic to which you have to write an essay for.

Should the patient's ability to pay depend on the quality of care they receive?

we didn't have to write any essays at the interview. 😛

mini tooth..

how come you didn't have to write any essays? UCSF indicated that all interviews consists of us writing a 2 paragraph essay...
