UCSF

Pros:
  • P/F plus no ranking
  • strong research program
  • strong community service opportunities
  • students seemed to have more well-balanced life (especially D1 year)
  • smaller class size!
Cons:
  • no campus
  • no scholarship 🙁

UCLA

Pros:
  • super fortunate to receive Regent's and Dean's scholarship
  • P/F
  • campus life
Cons:
  • heard that there was ranking still?
  • heard also strong emphasis on classes
  • in LA (want to get out of LA)
Overall both are fantastic schools and I am super lucky to get in to both. UCSF was my #1 choice, but I don't know if getting a scholarship to UCLA is enough for me to pick UCLA over UCSF. Overall, both options are cheap options so is it dumb of me to still pick UCSF over UCLA? I'm thinking about specializing too in the future. Would love to hear input about the pros/cons of each school before deciding.

cheapest...

at this point both cost relatively the same with UCLA being a little bit cheaper. Looking for more substantial reasons for each school
you can't go wrong either way
i would choose the one that is closest to where you want to practice in the future
but it sounds like you want to go to UCSF...

I say spark some personal growth and move somewhere new! You could also try reaching out to UCSF and letting them know you have scholarship offers somewhere else and if they can offer anything

I tried emailing them but they said they had none available at the moment. Thanks for all your feedback!
