OK, I know that the website says that everyone will be notified by April 1, 2005 but everyone I know who interviewed already received their notice from UCSF. I want to call them but I know they don't like it when people call to check status, especially since it they still have a week before April 1. Is there anyone who interviewed and hasn't heard back yet? I just want to know if there's anyone in the same boat as me...thanks.

I haven't heard either!! For those people you know who already received notices from SF, are they all acceptances? Just wondering if we still have a chance ...

I'm also waiting for their response. I know that many people have gotten their acceptance but I also heard of rejections. So I guess for those who haven't heard from them, we are not the top students nor all the way in the bottom either. If they use this criteria to notify the candidates, I'm not sure if I will get an acceptance and at the most, perhaps the alternative list? If anybody here knows how this works, could you tell me if I still have a chance at this point?

I haven't heard back from them yet, either, but I wouldn't panic yet. They carefully explained at the interview that they pull files randomly throughout March for evaluation. Just because we haven't heard yet isn't a reflection of our inadequacies, since it's a random process.

There's only a few people that hear back early. Most are notified around April 1st.

I got my letter today. I am in. Good luck to all of you. I hope I'll see you in September in SF.

just got my UCSF Acceptance Letter in zee mail today. 🙂 Declining though, so some lucky person has another shot now. Btw, for all you ppl wondering, I remember Melissa Hung specifically saying at the interview that all files will be pulled randomly and then thoroughly evaluated. Thus, being accepted earlier or later does not indicate the quality of the applicant (i.e. your UCSF acceptance chances are equally likely at any time in this game). So just hang in there tight.

best of luck!

[EDIT] for those who are rejected, don't give up yet 'cuz i heard it's likely that they'll call you and offer you a spot on their waiting list.

I got my acceptance letter today. I am excited to join everyone this fall. Good luck to everyone. 🙂

Congratulations to everybody who got in !!!!

I still haven't heard anything yet. I'm pretty much guessing I'll be waitlisted or rejected ... but after all this waiting i feel very :scared:

I'm tempted to call and ask whether they're still sending out more letters, but I'm hesitant because their website and FAQs page screams 'don't call.' Is there anybody from last year who received their letters at the very last minute? Is there anybody still waiting with me? 😕

Has anyone been placed on waitlist yet? Because I've heard of people being accepted and rejected...but haven't heard of anyone waitlisted. I guess it makes sense if they wait to send out the waitlisted at the end when they can figure out the rankings..

I'm waiting too and it's killing me. I run home and check the mail everyday. Based on several posts, I think most ppl get letters on Friday's. Friday is only two days away...Good luck!! :luck:

I got wait listed today. I was pretty bummed but I'll be attending USC instead. I'm not sad about that at all because USC is a great school. I'm alternate list number 22.. does anyone know of how my chances of getting in are? . .. like percentage wise..?

I got a letter in the mail today that started with "I regret to inform you ..." But oh well, I'm just relieved that I don't have to wait anymore. On the up-side, I'll be attending USC, which I'm starting to get really excited about !!

good luck to everybody else who's waiting for their letters. oh, and i hope u get in crest .. if not see u at SC =)

hummm waitlist..., I'm just wondering how many people they put on the waitlist.

I got my letter on monday (3/21) and i'm going to sf! As for the waitlist, my friend got waitlisted last time and I think she said you have high chances if you're #40 or higher so #22 is pretty good. For those of you going, what are you going to do for housing? I'm just curious.

so since they're already filling the waitlist...should we assume that all the spots are filled up already. Basically ppl who haven't heard back are rejected or waitlisted??

i dont know for sure, but my intuitions tell me that that's probably true. I havent' heard back from them yet either. 🙁

Got my letter post-marked 3/21, I got waitlisted as well. My waitlist number isn't too favorable. CONGRATS to all that got in! 🙂

Has anyone recieve no response yet from UCSF? Please let me know.

I got wait-listed at UCSF. My letter arrived 3/23. I'm in the high thirties on the waitlist. Unfortunately I'm no longer in the running for any other schools, so this is my last chance for this year...

I haven't either! hmm...

I called UCSF this morning and they said all their letters are mailed out already. If you haven't received anything I suggest that you call them. They are resending my letter today because they wont tell me anything over the phone...BUT the lady said she will extend my deadline to 14 days after I receive it to respond because the orignal deadline was April 1st...so I am hopeful...I mean I wouldn't have to respond if I got rejected right???

Thanks for the info. I'm anxious. I just want to know! Anyway, good luck to you. 🙂

I called as soon as I read your post, and found out that my letter was mailed out on the 18th! For some reason, I didn't receive the letter, and they just said they would send me a copy of the letter. They didn't say anything about extension. 🙁 But, two days later, I received the original letter which got lost in the mail. And, ... 😀 I'm in! I received the copy they sent the day after that, and yes, they did extend the deadline for me. Anyway, let me know of your good news, too!
