This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It means they haven't decided if they want to accept you yet. That is all. If you haven't gotten a rejection, then you still have a chance of getting in.

I just got a call from UCSF. looks like they are sending out a new batch of admissions today.

Oh no, it's this thing again! I'm gonna stay off SDN for the next week.

👍:laugh:me too! I am about to have a heart attack! I am planning to drive to LA in one hour and stay off SDN for 5 6 days

I just heard back, I am in!! (mid-January interview). 😍

Best of luck to you all who are still waiting. :xf:

OMG, I was reading the thread and getting anxious. Then my phone rang and it was the Dean telling I am accepted.
This is so great. Couldn't be happier.

Lol im high 60's at least ur in better than me

For those who were accepted, how many days do you have to make your deposit?

I'm on the waitlist... in the low 40's... pretty disappointed but wondering if there's any real chance?

To help you think about your waitlist situation....
Last year, I applied and got waitlisted. My number was mid-50's, and at the end of the cycle (right before the school started), my number went down to 12. This means that if I were 38 or lower on the waitlist, I would've have gotten in at the last minute. Although every year is different, based on what I've researched on SDN, it's very likely that you will get in if your number is 20's, and somewhat likely if you are 30's on the waiting list. Who knows it will even be better this year and people in the 40's on the waiting list will get called in?
Keep your fingers crossed! And IF things don't work out for you this year, apply again on June 1st. I did that, and got accepted this year on 12/1, and it's worth it.
Berkguy, it seems that you have been accepted to other schools. They all look like great choices -

Thanks so much for your detailed input. I really appreciate it.

I got accepted yesterday with a phone call as well. However, Im more so leaning towards going to my state school instead. Congrats on whoever takes my spot.

My interview was in mid-jan, if anyone was wondering.

Thank you so much for the info! Do you remember which range were you in by the end of March last year? Just want to know how fast the waitlist moved.

After digging through my email inbox, particularly from the beginning to the end of March 2011 and from UCSF 😉, I can confidently tell you that I was #39 on March 18, 2011. The update on your number will come every month, and the schedule for the update will be given when you receive an email regarding your waitlist status.
Some months, I jumped 20 seats, and other months, I moved up by 1 seat. My mood of the month pretty much depended on how much I jumped

Thank you so much for the info. It gives me some hope!

It's only been one update, so it could be far too early to tell, but I feel like this year's waitlist is not going to be moving much. Did last year's waitlist move a lot in the beginning, or was it more towards the end of Spring/Summer?
