UCSF made it clear that we cannot alter the format, font, or spacing of the PDF secondary application. But when I write my essays, the first line slightly covers a small part of the question that is directly above it. Is it allowable for me to jump to the second line and begin my essays? Or would that be considered altering the format of the PDF?

I think us pre-dents have become paranoid :scared:

Make sure you have the right version of the PDF reader or whatever. Sometimes if you load the PDF file on the browser, it does some funky formatting. Safari made the spacing weird for mine, but when I switched to Firefox it was fine.

Hey, it did that for mine too. It only did it while i was typing in that particular text box though. As soon as i went to a new one, it made everything back to the way it was. And no, i dont think that would be considered altering the PDF.

so i used apple previews to edit in my responses for SF and LA secondaries and the format came out different when I ran those on adobe... I still went with the previews and got the app complete and under review email so I think the minor changes due to the browser or pdf reader is overlooked unless the changes are significant.

I had the same experience. I think what they are saying they don't want is for someone to construct a new version of the application with smaller font sizes in the text boxes. Don't stress out about the little things too much everyone!
