For those of you who have submitted the UCSF secondary or know the answer to this question, do they allow you to submit any information in addition to what was already in the AMCAS application and looked at as part of the preliminary screening? What's the point of screening then if they have all the information there in the first place to just give out interviews? I know other schools have secondaries with no space for additional comments, but they don't screen so it doesn't make sense to me... any thoughts?

yeah i was thinking the same thing also, the only thing i came up with was that the secondary asks if you want to be considered for joint programs.

yeah, but i'm already a master's student and definitely don't want a PhD so i can even pretend i'm interested in their other programs... i'm now wondering how i can state additional information by just applying for the standard 4-year MD you know?

you can.

"if you wish to update or expand on your activities, you may submit a supplementary list (maximum two pages) to be returned with the documents above"

a supplementary "list"... hmmm... but you can send in extra info

The new information they look at are your letters of recommendation.

6 wks have passed and no 2ndary yet. that leaves them 4 wks to mail me a rejection letter.

it took me six weeks of waiting to get it, so it's not over for you guys...

Yep, that's it. They want to know who they can expect to receive letters of recommendation from and give you the opportunity to apply for the JMP, etc.
