for the prereq part, my physics(4 units each) and labs(1 unit each) were seperate. So I need 6 spaces, but there's only 4 spaces. Do I just list the lecture portion?

I guess you can just list the lecture portion since there is no space!

Last year the PDF's couldn't be save as you type...so what I did was fill out a page..then print 2 copies....then fill out another page and print out another 2 copies...rinse and repeat...

Hey guys, I also have a question about the "units". All of my classes are calculated in "credits", and we have two semesters per years (ie: we only have a fall/spring terms, no winter). For example, a 4 credit Biochem course taken duing 1 full semester............how many "units" does this count? Thanks

This is what I did last year:

Class_________ Units_____ Grades
Physics 1/1A___ 4/1_______ A/B
etc etc.

And it worked out fine.

Best of luck

For the prereq part, were you guys able to fit in your course numbers? How would you put Psych 210? When I type in my course numbers, almost all of them are cut off and not printed out. Does anyone know how to figure this out?

I understand what you mean. I just shrink it by eliminating some of the letters and spaces. For example in your case you can write Psyc210!

every time i try to type something on the PDF for the UCSF secondary app, it indents it for me, placing my last name underneath where the first name is supposed to go and the first name underneath the middle name. Also the big problem arises when i type in my address! when i do this it indents it and also switches everything around so its not properly placed. like if i put in st # then street it would fix it to be street then street number and its pissing me off! you think i might be the autocorrect?

That sounds weird...maybe there's a weird set up in you PDF. Mine shows up a small box of word choices that I have typed before whenever I do a new entry. Is this what's happening to you? If not try to reinstall your PDF, maybe it will work better.

Try to drag you mouse and click to the exact place where you want to put your data. Never use space bar to change the cursor.

BTW, what did you guys do during ur undergraduate research?

I want to hear a kind of real experience.

Especially, science (lab / experiement / clinical) research.

Basic / Paid / Really hardcore research and publishment,etc..

What kind of change in yourself did u experience? You got confidence you obtained a full skill to conduct professional research as long as you can obtain any more professional knowledges? I believe many of you guys participated in the basic portion/part of the research projects, but not sure about this.

((((((((((((((((My belief is that real thing is done by graduate students. Am I wrong?
Unfortunately, I have no research experience.

The bad thing is I didn't build up basic research skills and experiences to participate in research immediately. Oh~ I took a few courses to learn about research, and to register for a honored program. But, I didn't took the last step to join the honored program, because I need to focus on GPA in that particular period.

The ok thing is I believe I need to learn more to perform professional research, so I still can build up my research skill during professional years. But, are there any disadvantege of begininig research a bit later than those superior/honored guys, if I want to continue to study even after professional years? ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

In one word, I think I want to know what you can do for research when u are undergrad student. And, how many hours/days/periods. What was difficult....bla bla

So, I don't know, and curious about it.

did you figure out how to type in a class like Chem333 in the UCSF app? There is hardly any room!

Yeah, the way I figure, they have our official transcripts, AADSAS's copy of the transcripts, our AADSAS application...I'm sure they're just re-checking everything to make sure we get our pre-reqs in before graduation. I'm just abbreviating to make it all fit, so Chem 14CL is Cm14CL.

Hey guys quick question though - how the hell do we fill out the sixth page of the application?? There's four columns...what the heck does it all mean?? So confused.

For pg.6 I put a check in the box that related to each year. From 0-5 I lived in a city...6-11 I lived in a suberb...etc. I think they basically want our life history. although, i'm 32 and a whole lot has happened since 18.

Ah. Thanks that makes a lot of sense!

what's the "IP" of "IP or planned" stand for on page 5? "In progress"? If so should i leave it blank if it's completed? or should i say no as in not in progress????
