Hey I got an email from UCSF asking to fill out a supplemental that they require of all people who apply-has anyone filled this out-i havent had a chance to look at it but is it a pain?
I got the same email; I'm thinking about unapplying given that the application has a section for non-UCSF students where you should list all rotations completed at UCSF. It doesn't state if you've done rotations please list them below, it just IMPLIES you should have done one. Considering this is not neurosurgery, I think the program is putting itself on a pedestal.
i was kinda thinking the same thing. they also require 4 LORS which i do not have. maybe they are just really competitive and dont want to waste their resources on people who would not really attend their program?
Wow ok well not I just saw and filled out the suppl. application and it was soo easy-nothing like Med school 2ndaries which were a pain. Basically all it asks for was your name and list any rotations you have done at UCSF and then made you rank your list of things you are considering doing as a career in psych. So the only thing I wonder is if they look favorably on poeple who rotated through UCSF-and yes stanford and UCSF both require 4 letters-which was a pain since I had to go get one more just to apply there but in retrospect had I not subbmited already I probably wouldnt have applied since they are both my last place picks-they will be ranked 8th and 9th on my list-and I am debating whether even to interview and rank them-
Northern Cal just never was for me, also reserach is not for me-but Big name schools never hurt and that is the draw-but I agree-kind of a pain and their big shot attitude may get annoying going there-who knows
