UCSF vs LLU!

been accepted to both. trying to decide. need some opinions!

LLU so I can get an offer at UCSF 😉 No but really... Do you like meat? Do you enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage? Are you SDA or LDS? I feel like if you fit in with the culture at LLU it's a no brainer, but if you feel like you will have to act like someone who you are not in order to fit in at a school then you clearly should not go there.

What are your considerations? What are some of the most important things you're looking for in a school?

I say UCSF so I can get in at LLU. 😀 j/k as well. I agree with the above post. It kind of depends where you would feel most comfortable. If you don't have a preference either way, for me it would come down to cost and clinical experience that each school offers.

i went to a christian high school and a christian undergrad. i'm pretty used to crazy rules. so i feel comfortable at llu. however, i think llu is going to be about 5 to 6 grand more per year. both schools actually have good clinical (or so they claim). i like the international missions program offered (or required) at llu. i already made the 1000 dollar deposit at llu. (i guess not soo important in the long run.) i have friends at llu, but i also wonder if i would get a better chance at going into a specialty (which i am considering) at ucsf. its hard to make a decision for the next four years and the start of my professional career based off of only 4 to 6 hours at each school. (time and money limitations).

I have only my personal experience to go on, but you won't go wrong if you go to LLU. Our clinical education is very strong and fairly comprehensive, and I would say you have as good a chance to get into a specialty program from there as anywhere. however, the choice to specialize is one that can and will change after you actually start d-school. I was dead set on ortho but gave that up long ago.
