have a chance to attend one meeting this year.

choices are ucsf's changing practice of anesthesia in san francisco, late september....or the new york state society of anesthesiologist's annual meeting in new york city, mid december.

anybody been to either....anybody have any advice for an anesthesia newbie who's never been to a professional anesthesia conference as of yet, let alone either host city.

never been to either, but the bay area is way more beautiful in september than NYC is in the middle of winter...

The PGA is an excellent meeting and one of the largest anesthesia meetings in existence. Many nationally and internationally known speakers. I highly recommend attending it at least once in your career.

Having the meeting in New York during the Holiday Season is a bonus. Excellent shopping and limitless entertainment. If you have never been to NYC, I cannot think of a better time for a first visit.

If you go, just make sure to arrange a hotel room early. (Some are booked years in advance.)
