UCSF vs Stanford

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You can do a search to get different opinions on these programs but I think you have to just see them to decide for yourself. I do think they are both very competitive to get into.

We've had threads/posts on this in the past; you might want to do a search.

They are both great programs, almost identical in set-up. You can't go wrong with either one in terms of training. It's been said that they tend to attract different personality types, and on my visits, I noticed different "vibes" between the two - but that's likely idiosyncratic based on the weather and people's moods that day and what I ate for breakfast, etc. For some, living in the city vs. the suburbs is a factor. Yes, they are both competetive as they are well-known programs in a very desireable part of the country.

As miko said it is usually best to see programs for yourself and see what suits you.
