Hi guys. I was wondering how long you guys had to wait after completing the secondary before hearing about an interview? Did any of you apply as disadvantaged (lady in red, I think you did, how long did it take for them to get back to you after you completed the application)? Can you also post your stats, if you don't mind, esp. the verbal mcat). thanks.

My stats (verbal MCAT esp.) are RADIOACTIVE <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" /> , i can't post them here, people will kick me out!!!!! It took them a couple of weeks (maybe 3?) to get back to me, pretty quick. However, I religiously mailed the secondary a week before deadline. yes i applied as disadvantaged, i dunno how much it helped.

I didn't apply to UCSF as disadvantaged, but I did apply as an URM. I don't know if that really helps but I turned in my secondary in mid-Oct, got word back for an interview in late Nov. and interviewed in early Dec. I still haven't heard either way from UCSF but it is around the 15th so maybe I will hear this week. Good luck with your app.

Hey wassup,

I mailed in my application at the end of november, with my 3 weak/mediocre letters of rec. I then mailed in my 2 strong letters mid-to end of december. I first heard back from them January 2nd about a hold for interview...then Feb 14th i got an email invite for interview. I guess they looked at my strong letters and were pleased. 🙂
I'm a URM and applied as disadvantaged with a 3.7/33. The cool thing is that they hooked me up with contacts in the chicano medical students assoc, which other schools have done also.

Hello

I received a secondary on 11/24 and sent it 11/26. I received an email on 1/2 asking me to interview and I interviewed on 1/30. I, like ladyred, had a pretty low verbal score = 9. However, my science scores were really good and I am a "nontraditional" applicant, which I think they dig. No word yet, but I am not expecting to hear from them until 3/15 the earliest, 4/15 the latest. good luck to everyone. I was estatic to get the interview invite (50% chance of acceptance) and felt pretty privileged. UCSF is absolutely my number one choice!

jrucb,
i was also placed on hold for an interview on january 2nd. I recently spoke with a UCSF rep and they said they would not be re-reviewing "hold" apps until mid March. Did you specifically write a letter asking to be reviewed again? or something else??? i am dying for an interview and any advice would be appreciated. thanx!

I sent my secondary in early october and was notified of an interview on about october 20th. So about 2-3 weeks
