UF Alternate List
Started by jacobtp
i just finished my first year at the st. pete campus...we had a couple people here who were on the waiting list but received their acceptance a few weeks before school started...i'm not really sure if anyone can tell you what your chances are...i guess it would depend on how high up you are on the list. best of luck...check your pm
jacobtp...I've tried sending you a PM, but your box is full.jacobtp said:I've been put on the alternate list at University of Florida and was wondering what my chances are?
1) anyone out there have any previous experience of being admitted off the waitlist at UF?
Thanks

Greetings, Jacob, et al.
I was wondering the same thing. I just received a letter from UF that I was on the alternate list. I didn't know how many were on the list. Also, I'm sending my confirmation to be placed on the list tomorrow and I was wondering if I should send a thank you note or would that be seen as "kissing up"? Thanks. And good luck to you, Jacob. 🙂
I too just received my alternate list letter. I'm not quite sure what to think at this point. I'm a career changing hopeful who is not sure what to do now. I'll just count my blessings and be happy that I'm on the list rather than getting rejected.
Question for those of you in school...could you ask those students who got in from the waiting list WHEN they received word that they were on the waiting list? Is it good to hear near the end of the timeframe?
I'm probably just over analizing...go figure. I guess we all are at this point. 🙂
Again good luck to all and I hope to to be joining all of you at G-ville in August and hopefully all year in Orlando!

anyone accepted off waitlist to uf in previous years? how long did you have to wait? how many people in your class were accepted off waitlist?? etc...
Hey, guys, haven't heard anything from UF (and no one PM'ed me any info), but that's to be expected I guess since they're not ranking the alternates until late July.

Waiting is not a fun thing. Today, everything is supposed to instant, right? I guess it's good to wait for things once in a while.
I read an article once suggesting that traffic is not a bad thing...
They suggested that all good things in life require a line. Like getting ice cream, or a snack at the movies. They equated that with traffic. The ultimate motivation was to get home.
Is four years of torture...I mean learning... worth it? I would have to say so.
Three months later, and still....good luck!

I know that on the St Pete campus they are already matching up 2PD students to be mentors with the new 1PD students. I don't know if this means that St Pete campus is full and not accepting any off the waitlist, or if they just want to have a list to match up common interests.
Just received an email from UF that I made it in. Did anyone else? It didn't state which campus though!
Congrats on Mercer, Jacob! You going to keep posting on here? We can compare how our first years are. 🙂
jacobtp said:Received an email from UF that I made it in also. No campus indicated. Anyways too late for me. I have already decided to go to Mercer and have moved to GA.

OMG This thread really scared me, until I read the dates
The I realized it was August last year.
I got an email from UF last week about my campus ranking form.
So I guess at least they are looking at my stuff? 😕
Man this is a very long wait.

Hi Usi,
Didn't i tell you it would come down to what campus you would like to attend? relax you are in u'll si !
You were not placed on the alternate list, am sure, does the alternate list means that in case a student offered a spot refuses to attend then you get in or the Adcom is waiting for your summer or spring grades? ,i have a few freinds applying too and i have being delegated the Uf adviser! see you at orientation!!! 😀

LOL. yeah. Well, I did tried calling them but the answer is always "the application is in the process" or "you'll probably hear from the school by April"...
Oh well, just got to wait for it.

The adcom at UF only meets a couple of times before the Feb deadline. Most of the decisions are made after the Feb deadline after all applications are in (they are not rolling admissions).
