I wanted to start a thread for all of us that will be attending UF in the Fall. Anyone else planning their move to Gainesville from somewhere else in Florida or out of state?

I’ll be attending and will be moving from Tampa! I think next week I’m going to visit Gainesville and look at a few apartments while I’m there. Have you started looking?

Only online. I'm going mid-March, it's the earliest my wife and I could both get time off at the same time lol. We'll be moving from Miami, still can't wrap my head around how much more affordable Gainesville is. So far, Treehouse Village looks like the most attractive place on paper but we're planning to look at a lot of different places while we're there, including an off-campus UF housing community for grad students. Good luck with your search!

For all of ya'll considering Gainesville, check out Gainesville Place. Rent is in the low 500s. I've lived here for three years and it's a great complex. It comes fully furnished, and has multiple buses that come into the complex that drive right onto campus. I really haven't had any complaints about the complex at all. Also, if you get a parking permit to park on campus, you can take the 118 from the commuter lot and it brings you right to the center of campus. Only about a 5 minute drive to the bus stop. Overall, great place and really cheap!

Has anyone that has applied out-of-state heard back yet? I heard that they go through their in-state applicants first and then to the out-of-state applicants but not sure how true that is.

I applied from out of state and heard back on January 19th

I was placed on their waitlist yesterday. I am already set on another school out of state, but it would be nice to have in state tuition.
I’m not getting my hopes up. I’m sure their waitlist doesn’t have a lot of movement 🙁
Gongrats to all of you!
