I was so excited how concise the UF secondary application was...

...until I came to the "Personal Statement" section.

So we have to write another personal statement completely unrelated to our AADSAS one? I basically touched on everything I wanted to in my original statement, and am completely stumped.

For people who have already submitted their UF secondary, how long was your new personal statement?

I dont recall exactly how long it was, but i think maybe a page or so.

Mine was about as long as my AADSAS statement. What I did was, I wrote the AADSAS essay in a very professional tone, like, "I have done this and this and this and that is why I will excel in dental school" and I used the UF essay to be more personal and tell a bit more of a story for them to understand me better. I touched on my artistic abilities and personal struggles more, while I kept those out of my first essay.

I thought both of my essays were pretty strong but here I am sans interview, lol.

Obligatory: what are your stats, when did you submit, when did you get the supplemental? 😛

Yeah i did the same, I got a little more personal on this one. Created some type of "interview" personality per say. I think i screwed things up, i wrote it really quick lol.

Good Luck to you! and yes statss!!!!!

Haha, I guess I'll throw my stats out there; might make you feel better about yours, wcombs.

uGPA - 3.29 (3.08 sci, 3.05 BCP)
cGPA - 3.43 (3.31 sci, 3.34 BCP) (4.0 in a SMP)
DAT - 24 AA / 25 TS / 22 PAT / 21 RC

I got my secondary on 8/08, and am trying to finish it tonight or tomorrow. Between the SMP, studying and taking the DAT, and getting in my AADSAS application, I find myself quite burnt out when it comes to getting secondaries sent in a timely manner (I still have UPenn's to send from early June; it's a doozy). It's more exhaustion of the process than procrastination, but perception is reality.
