UF secondary

Ok, so I got a secondary from UF about 2 weeks ago. I just finished the essay. Anyway, in the second app, there is somewhere you have to check those classes u took, what confused me was that their designated biochem was 4 hours so does genetics? I am from UT Austin and there is no 1 hour lab for either class. I am graduating in Dec, anyone knows what should i do? Check for complete ? or check for planning? SO CONFUSED, I NEED a Martini.

Don't worry too much. I have heard of other people having this problem. COnsidering you are out of state and got a secondary from you UF, you should be very proud and hopeful.

Just call UF and they will tell you what to do... I think they may give you a pass on it. At UF genetics adn Biochem do not have labs either (when I took them) but they were four credits. So just let them and they will be more than willing to help you out. The biggest thing to them is that they were not online courses. I THINK they do not like people taking pre-recs online.

its because they combine the lab and lecture and they expect you to take both which would be 4 hours. At my sch biochem and orgo labs count for 2 credits heach so lab + lecture would be 5 credits. Which is also fine.

Just tell them you plan to take it. If you get in take it in the spring. Other then that it really shouldnt be a problem at the moment. but again you should be proud of yourself for getting an interview 👍

If your school doesn't offer the extra lab, so you end up with 3 credits, they understand, and you are OK with the 3. I emailed them about this and they said it's fine if your school doesn't offer it.

They called me specifically and told me that you need to complete 4 c. hours of Biochemistry and we do not care that your university does not offer a lab.
So now i am taking another biochemistry course and will end up having 6 c.hours

This discrepancy worries me T_T.. Well, I have their email, so if I'm accepted, I'll worry about it then.

The secondary really seems to correlate really well to getting an interview.. I sent mine in and got my interview a week later. All my friends also had the same situation, but who knows.

Yeah I agree with that. I honestly think you would have to write something absolutely atrocious to not get an interview. So be creative and appeal to them why Florida is a school you want to attend. Maybe even mention Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators.....they worship him and football down there.

Yeah You are absolutely right! I just called them and they said if you didn't have any 1 credit lab with biochem of genetics that's fine because that's how UF is doing. All i need to do is to show a prerequisit from pre-health committee that there is no one hour lab for those classes, those 2/3 hour lab doesnt apply! So yeah! I don't have to stick around school for another semester!!! Thank you all for help! Have a terrific semester! I am off to the swimming pool now!

UF just received my secondary on Tuesday Oct. 12th, and I called an confirmed. I still haven't heard anything. Is this normal?? How long after you submit a secondary do they notify you of an interview or no interview?
