UH JABSOM vs Temple (St. Lukes)

Hello! I am trying to decide between UH JABSOM and Temple (St. Lukes) for medical school this fall. I am interested in primary care but am keeping a very open-mind. My biggest factor in deciding is student support and community. Here are my pros and cons- they aren't comprehensive, but they're important to my decision. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you so much!

UH JABSOM

Pros

• Substantial community from my undergrad program in the area and at the school
• Curriculum that would seemingly prepare me very well for holistic, patient-centered care
• The resources from the Office of Student Affairs are clearly laid out to support students with academics and even mental health needs
• I have visited the area many times

Cons

• Extremely far from family
• Will accrue significant debt

Temple

Pros

• Small community that is seemingly tight-knit
• Ability to forgive all student debt by staying in the area for residency

Cons

• I do not know anyone in the area, nor have I ever visited
• Extremely far from family

Is Temple significantly cheaper since I know they give that annual $10,000 St. Luke's scholarship to all the regional campus students?

I’d love living in Hawaii but I’d say they’re similar in terms of options after. Really comes down to magnitude of cost imo.
