Well, Im kind of in the same boat as you are. Im moving to KC too and honestly am unsure about FURNISHED apartments. i however found what seems to be a cool pad 3 miles from campus in a place called Pinnacle Towers. Rent is only 375/mo including air conditioning but no electricity. All other utilities included. It is not furnished, but Im sure you can find some cheap furniture when you get there. Good luck.
