So I'm applying for UIC and SIU (yeah In-state tuition! 😀) and I was wondering if anyone knew what the interview process is like for both schools. From what I've seen, the admissions staff all seem really nice, but I don't know if the interviews are super intense or ok. Any stories/experiences??

Thanks!!!

click on the dental tab at the top of this page, then choose database, then click on the school of your choice.

There you will find all the help you need. Otherwise, my SIU interview consisted of a 100 word paragraph on a situation they give you. Then, you meet up with your interviewers - one professor and one student- who have a general conversation with you. Oddly, it was one of my more awkward interviews cuz the interviewer paused a lot and would wait for like a minute after i finished talking... maybe he wanted me to say everything I wanted to say.

next, my UIC interview consisted of a quick group meeting/introduction. Then we were sent off on two 20 minute interview rotations. Finally, we talked to D3/4s, got a school tour and were sent home. I was fairly comfortable with my UIC interview - my first one consisted of a bunch of ?s they threw at us. My second consisted of a casual conversation.

Good luck with your interviews.
