USC is anywhere from 4 weeks to never.
Or 2 weeks as it is commonly known.

Hey Jalby,

I've come to terms that I've not been accepted to USC. The woman I spoke with mistakenly said something was on its way. Nothing came-- oh well, I'm not the kind of guy to sulk about it. This is a good opportunity to write a letter. I'm still praying for USC; am I in an okay position, or do my chances drop drastically if I miss that initial post-interview cutoff?

Thanks

It prolly means that you didn't make the first cut. So I would guess you are either on the waitlist or rejected. But very few people get rejected.
But I wouldn't worry about it to much. Last year, everybody I know who really wanted to go to SC last year got in. You just have to let SC know that you really want to go there.

here's my obscure and unimportant contribution to the thread:

Only two people in my class are open about their hesitancy in coming to school here. One guy wanted to be with his gf @ U of Michigan, where they were both undergrads. The other wanted to go to USC to stay in Cali, be by the beaches and cute guys. Guess that might've meant you, Jalby 😉
Both now happen to be two of the most social and more involved classmates.

Is it really two week turnaround??

Also, how do you let them know you really want to go there (in the interview or did you write a letter post interview)?

i called UIC last thursday 1/30. the dude told me the adcom was meeting that day, which means you should get something this week. hey...keep me informed. good luck.

Will keep you posted. If they met on the 30th, should hear something within the next week, which seems consistent with what they said (you should hear back in the first or second week of Feb.). Hopefully it will be good news (but I am always doubtful).

USeF: here is what I thought. I loved Chicago, more than any of the other 4 places I interviewed at. I wasn't expecting to really like Chicago, but it was very nice. However, the facilities at UIC are very run down.....I guess its because it is very old. The buildings and the campus area is beautiful, it is just the inside (mainly the first year lecture hall and labs etc and library). What did you guys think of UIC??
