I recently interviewed with UIC downtown. I have already interviewed with Midwestern and been accepted with paid deposit. However now visiting UIC has made me really think about my choices. Attending UIC would save me about 40 grand. I would really appreciate any opinions. Also I have wanted to be a pharmacist forever and Midwestern has been my top choice(I've had family go there). Thanks

Neither school is a "bad" school, UIC has a great rep, its in a city which affords you many academic opportunities, and the cherry on top of the sundae is you save $40K which after interest is more like $70K. No brainer. 🙂

I would go with whatever your gut is telling you. If you think you should go to UIC for reasons x,y,z, but your heart is at MWU, then go with MWU (and vice versa). No one on this forum can tell you exactly what to do. I would suggest talking to friends and family, who actually know you, for advice.

I would definitely go with UIC because it is cheaper. But hey to each his own and if you think that Midwestern is worth extra 40k before the interest, then do it.

Would you go to a school in a cookie-cutter suburb or in one of the greatest city in the world for 40k less? It's a no brainer.

I'm a P1 at UIC, and I'm very happy I chose to come here. I feel like I've learned a lot so far in our classes even though its been challenging, and there's many opportunities to get involved through the organizations and COP. My classmates have been very friendly and I've already made a bunch of close friends. Obviously, the COP is the oldest in Illinois and there are a lot of networking opportunities and alumni connections. When we picked our IPPE sites in the fall, there were a ton of hospitals and clinics in Chicago to choose from since we're in the Illinois Medical District. The social scene around here is also pretty good because you're in the the city. There's always something to do. If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me.

I didn't apply to Midwestern, so I can't comment about it.
