I recently got accepted to both schools. However, I need to make a decision between them.

Michigan= great reputation but low passing rate on the boards and I heard the clinical aspect is not strong (Not sure how it is currently with the new change).

UIC= great patient pool, high passing rate on the boards but very expensive and the state is broke.

Does anyone have any insight? I would really appreciate.

MICHIGAN. Hands down. Its an excellent school with tons of opportunities for extracurriculars, research, and leadership, the students seem to love the faculty and ann arbor is a great place. Ive also heard more than a fair share of gripes about UIC and its extremely expensive. Congrats on getting in to Michigan! I would go there if I were you.

Congrats on both of your acceptances!!
How was the stress level at UIC interview? Any recommendations for hotel/transport/anything else. I have an interview coming up and I am flying in from the west coast. Thanks!

Thanks. It was really laid back. Don't worry. Look at the "interview feedback" for the questions. It really helped. I stayed at the Best Western near Midway airport. It was cheap (as compare to the hotels around UIC-but to be fair, I came when there was a major conference and the hotels jacked up the price for that) and the room was good. They have free breakfast but it's nothing to brag about. My interview was on a Monday and for that reason, I made sure to leave early because of traffic. Traffic is bad in Chicago so keep that in mind. I rented a car since I was there for a few days and I wanted to look around Chicago but it's your call. Besides that, that's it. If you have any questions, send me a PM. Good luck!!

It is expensive but so is Michigan. 🙂 UIC has a diverse patient pool which I really like. Apparently, they have too many patients for chairs. I'm not sure about Michigan though. It's really a hard decision.

I probably wont be of much help, but Chicago and Ann Arbor are both extremely awesome places to be in, BUT they are both EXTREMELY cold. Invest in some serious cold weather gear. Congrats and good luck
