UK graduates

Hi! I am not a graduate just yet, but attend U of Glasgow and very happy that I am not attending school in the US. The curriculum and faculty are very good and extremely helpful. The school is module based and those intending to focus on farm/ food animal are encouraged to get clinical EMs in that area. We learn about everything. I am finding that the UK schools when compared to US schools, by word of mouth, appear to be doing a bit more to address burnout and stress in school. I feel that learning to suture in year 1, along with other day 1 competencies, and the 26 weeks of clinical EMS that I am required to have before I graduate has helped with the professional skills I will need to get a job. My main motivation for applying to a UK school was that I was open to practicing vet med outside the US and if I go back to the US I am not intending to practice at a specific practice or city. Also the ability to travel cheaply during breaks is amazing. It has been an eye-opening experience to live in a different culture, political system and educational system. I do plan on taking the NAVLE, but also having graduated in the UK and becoming a member of the RVC, I can also practice anywhere in the Commonwealth. Locum on vacation!
