Hey fellas,
For those of you who got invitation to Kentucky. I recevied my secondary application after the interview invite and a form for observation hours. Do I have to have all the dentists who I shadowed for to fill out the form? Or just pick the two dentists who I shadowed the most hours with? I observed and worked with 7 different dentists and I lost contact with two of them. 1 retired and moved away while the other dentist moved to a different state to start a business. I e-mailed and left a message to UK last week and I still haven't gotten back a response, hopfully I can get some answers here. Please help 😀

Congrats on the interview, I interviewed with them last week.

I spoke with Deana about this because I had a similar issue. As long as the forms that are faxed to them are over their required hours (I think it is really low, like 20), you are in good shape. I had a few dentists send in their forms that had around 100 hours, but I was unable to reach a few other dentist I worked with for various reasons.

I actually got an invite at UK as well via email. Once I submitted the forms they never sent me a list of interview dates. I called and they won't be in the office till next week.

I'm wondering if the month of October is filled. Have you guys got any dates from them?

I recently applied to UK and was unaware that I had to send in a form for observation hours....although it sounds unbelievable (and I am sure many people will think I am lying), but the dentist I shadowed a couple of years ago has alzheimer's and unfortunately doesn't remember my experience there. (I actually did contact him, and he couldn't "quite put his finger on" me. I actually got an LOR from my actualy dentist whom I have spent some time talking to about dental school, but did not actually shadow. What do you think I should do about this situation?

Nope. Just means your file has been pulled and are being looked at. If you pay the fee, this is what happens.

The interview at UK was a great experience; very conversational and relaxed. You have two interviews: 1 academic with a professor or dean, and 1 non-academic with a student dentist. So obviously the academic is open file. Each last about 30 minutes. Good luck!

Awesome!! Looking forward to it!!! Now I gotta take care of my traveling arrangement. How long is the ride from the school to the air port? I am thinking about catching the 5 o clock flight back to CA that day.

Hi all! My interview is next Saturday, November 7th. I'm nervous and excited 😀 I was also wondering about traffic and the time it takes to get from the school to the airport.

I went to undergrad at UK, and the commute from airport to campus is about 15min., up to 30 with bad traffic.

I am going there on Nov 2nd for my Nov 3rd interview. I am flying from CA and tranferring from Chicago to Lexington. It's gonna be a LONNNNNNNNNNG DAY
