Searching online yielded no results in my search for the durations of specialty training for orthopedic surgery, neurology, and general internal medicine. I think neurosurgery is 8 years...

Are you asking a question?

We do 2 general years before specialisation by the way. Yes NS is 8 specialist years but the vast majority now will also do a PhD. Most other surgical specialties are I think 7 specialist years with re-application after the first 2 in most cases.
