Haha, I know I know. Hard to shake the habit. I've already downloaded most of the books you've mentioned 😛.

The ones I mentioned I liked as hard copy and used for the first 2 years. I know there's a big folder of other electronic texts floating around (I gave mine to my frosh last year) so try to track those down when you get there in the first two weeks. You'll be assigned a mentor so don't stress out 🙂

Right now, spend as much time relaxing and hanging out with people as you can! It's busy but it's worth it!

I should have put this up way earlier since most people probably paid their fees -- but if you are using the UL "Pay to Study" site, be very careful with the exchange rate conversion. The guys advertise competitive and market rate, but when you are putting in the details, they quietly change about 0.02cents (last time I looked). Given our fees, that's a pocketing of approximately 2 grand without much difference from bank rates.

There are other sites you can use like transferwise that will save you approximately about a grand or ~$1500 depending on your payment amount. Shop around! That money will get you lots of Guinness!

EDIT: for all future peeps
EU-wide: Transferwise would be preferable (problem, SWIFT + 0.5% gouging for CAD to EU)
Canada: XE (variable rates) or VBCE (vancouver bullion) are two big ones - call and ask for rates since they will negotiate to competitive market rates. (flat fee)
