I am interested in Maryland's program, but unfortunately I have heard mostly bad things about it. This mostly seems to be related to how the residents are treated and their dissatisfaction with their residency. Scutwork.com doesn't exactly have glowing reviews. I was wondering is there are any MD residents who post here that could maybe write their thoughts or PM me. Thanks.

Also, any information from current 4th years with knowledge or thoughts on the program would be helpful.

Thanks

I interviewed there because I like the Maryland area of the country.

The residents looked overworked and felt overworked and some seemed a bit on the bitter side. The consensus was lack of time for reading and there are some problems with the way evaluations are performed that may lead to some residents being made aware of potential training deficiencies late into their residency which may lead to additional time needed to complete their residency. The acting chair (not interim as he didn't apply for the job) when asked what he thought needed to be changed admitted that the residents don't get enough time to read.

I honestly didn't even rank them partly due to this evaluation thing but mostly due to the cost of living in Baltimore.

Hope this helps.
