In Part 4 of the supplemental application it says:
"Do you have any relative(s) who are University of Maryland alumnus/alumni?"
Please list relatives' name, relationship to applicant, degree and campus attended.

Do they mean UMD Dental School or University of Maryland (College Park or Baltimore)?
I'm thinking they mean any UMD school because it asks to list the campus attended..

hey so i got the supplemental app yesterday as well. AADSAS mailing date 7/22. maryland resident. i have a bit of a predicament though....on the third section it asks about LOR writers. I missed the deadline to get a letter from my pre-health office on campus and i highly doubt they are going to be able to get one together for me at this point. also, i don't have a chem LOR writer. what should I do? just put down two bio profs? i really should not have missed that deadline haha.

with your stats, i wouldn't sweat it. maybe they give them to maryland residents first? i know umd likes their in-staters

My application was submitted 6/14 and the mailing date was 7/18. I received UMD supplemental email on 11/9.
I'm an instate applicant and my stats:
Science GPA: 3.4
Non science GPA: 3.8
Total GPA: 3.6

DAT breakdown:
22 General chemistry
22 Organic chemistry
20 Biology
28 Reading comprehension
21 PAT
20 Quantitative reasoning
22 Academic Average


Also, in section 3 for Work activities, does anyone know if we can include non-paid dental internships?

You should contact the admissions office and ask them.

I recall reading that receiving the supplemental basically guarantees an interview once you submit (or something along these lines). If I didn't receive a supplemental application, is that bad news?? I know it's really competitive out of state- is there a way I can show them that I'm really interested in their school?

god i hope not....i'm missing my LOR requirement so it would be nice if they just overlooked that one 🙂 keeping my fingers crossed for good news from them this week!
