Hey everyone,
this is my first post on student doctor, i've been reading on this forum for a while now. I have a little dillema right now. I am a New Jersey resident and have gotten an acceptance to both UMDNJ and UMD. I already put down my deposit at UMDNJ (a whopping $1000), and just received notice of my acceptance to UMD yesterday. I always thought I'd jump at the chance to go to UMaryland because I've heard great things about their school. Now I'm not sure. People I've talked to go both ways. The other thing that plays a factor is the money. The budgets for UMDNJ instate is about 40k a year and for UMD (out of state) is 70k a year. Any thoughts or ideas would really help me out. I just want to hear things from both sides about both schools. I haven't been able to find any UMDNJ students or contacts off their websites so I have minimal information on the school.

Thanks in advance for the help. 🙂

I think that UMDNJ is as good as UMD and for the big of a price difference AND you are already living in NJ. I'd say go to UMDNJ. It's a solid school! And it probably won't make a difference anyways, except for that extra loan baggage.

i didnt want to stay in jersey for another four years and i wanted to goto umich, but if i didnt get in there id probably stay at umdnj cuz the clinical is amazing. I know of a dentist who chooses to hire UMDNJ students over upenn cuz of the experience.
