UMDNJ/NJDS anyone?

I live near umdnj ,school is good (building),staff good (I have talked some of them),classes I don't know ,people and environment very dangerous,newark is a dangerous city .Actually I can not say very much about the program but to be honest I've applied there because its pretty close from home .I have asked many time in this forum about the school and I haven't had a response .
 
I didn't hear any good about it. Many studnts had bad experiencs. I would rather go far away than going to the UMDNJ. It's a new program and they dont have that much clinical facilities. Its'just a trick for them to earn money not providing that much facilities to the students in the clinic.

actually if you check their website, they are having newer facilities on the way....which is one of the reasons i wanted to go there....I heard Newark was a bad area, but so is temple. I just want to concentrate on the education i can receive from the institution. Plus my dad lives in hackensack, so i can apply as in-state...so maybe it's a better choice for me..

Number of Seats 96 In State/Out of State 58 / 38
Predents.com....i think he/she will have a very good chance of getting accepted

Are you sure they have 96 seats because I called their office last month to enquire about application and I was told that they have 16 seats.
 
Yes 96 seats does sound like a lot especially as it is a new program. Maybe the 96 seats is for the 4year pre-doctoral program not the international/advanced standing 2year???
 
they just have 11 seats this year for international students the 96 seats are for 4 years dmd program not for foreign dentist.I did speak with an admission officer.

I was told they have 16 seats. Did you speak to them recently?
 
at the begining of july ,I don't know if they changed it now.
 
i apologize for the wrong information, thank you for clarifying. But do you think UMDNJ is a school worth going too? Because a lot of people are saying that it's a bad school.

h do they giv ne preference to in state ppl i hav also applied there without knowing nething abt the program
 
hey that's not bad...i heard you can become in-state really easy, so don't worry about it, other than that, it's a great clinical school, experience will be great and people are great. Only down side is the area, but the school is what's important. You aren't going to stay outside the whole day, you know what i mean lol.
 
could you please share ur stats ,those who applied to umdnj.
 
Does anyone have any information about what kind of scores they are looking for as they don't mention any minimum scores on there website.
I am assuming a 75 score on Part 1 will not have much luck anywhere??!!

If I recall correctly, interviews in Nov and Jan

All those ppl who have applied to new jersey can u guys tell me that to whom do we have write this 125$ application fee....Coz on their website they dint mention anything....I am planning to send my application soon..can any one help me wid dis plz...

Thanx for the reply man...and did it work out...i mean did they tell you that your application is complete and everything.....coz even i will write the same thing then and send the application fast....by the way do u think that i am too late in applying there...
 
actually they haven't told me that my application is complete but I do assume that they got the money cause I haven't heard from them since then and I applied early september. I do not know if it's too late ,the deadline is feb 1 but they say that applications are processed in a rolling basis which means the earlier the better .my opinion ,since the deadline is february 1st you still could apply .

School is good , youll learn alot no doubt,as far as newark is concerned ill just say ull learn alot also,but there are kewl places around if you take the path to hoboken , jersey city or the city

they said they will start interviewing in Nov. have you heard of any possible dates?
 
From what I recall, UMDNJ have interviews in Nov and Jan, looks like only 2 batches on interviews.

I think they have started reviewing applications just now as my application fee cheque was cashed yesterday while I sent my application two months back.

I have a Q about UMDNJ,
Have u all passed part 2? and also what was your scores?
Is it possible to send the part 2 score later or not? I mean after the dead line 😳
you guys said that the interviews will be on novem and january,
but the dead line is first febr does it mean that if I send my application on january i will have less chance of acceptance than others?

Just an hour ago I spoke to Admissinos dept lady. She said interview dates have been fixed to December 11-12th & January mid. Looks like they are going to call only 2 batches for interview.
 
I dont get it ,if interviews are 11-12 december when are they going to notify the chosen students ?they wont give the selected students time to prepare for the bench exam?

HOW COME THAT WOULD B POSSIBLE WHEN THEVE THEIR DEADLINE TILL FEB 1ST? I DONT UNDERSTAND THE [POINT IN DEADLINES????

They have not called anyone, but interviews are set for dec 11 and 12, the info that I heard was they should be calling for interviews by beg. next week.

Per umdnj they would be sending interview letters by overnight delivery today!! those waiting should get them by tommorow per school. Please dont quote me on this, but that is what they told me

I went today to umdnj and I spoke with and admission officer she told me the invitations were sent out yesterday.
 
Are they sending it by Fedex or Snail mail?
 
did u mean that you already received it by UPS?
