WEll i got acceptance in both schools in DMD , which school is better. Please advise. I am considering school reputation and chances of better job prospects after DMD.

what state do you live in? breaks down to debt vs. oodles of debt. there's a bit more opportunity, or at least its easier to find jobs/research in boston, than newark. good luck.

Are you planning on specializing? If not then just pick the cheapest school. People in the knows don't look very highly upon New Jersey grads due to all the recent cheating scandals from the students to the dean of the school.

UMDNJ hands down... BU might claim to have lots of research opportunities but they keep you away from school for so long with things like APEX(x2) and externships, thats it virtually impossible to get anything meaningful done. And lets not forget about the impact of such a HUGE Advanced Standing class. Seriously the place is over-priced and you when you add up the actual class/clinic time its a 3-year curriculum that charges 4 years tuition. Do yourself a favor go to the cheaper school... Even if you dont feel smarter at the end of 4 years at least you'll feel better.

I am thankful for ur answers. UMDNJ i think has gud clinical exposure more than BU. UMDNJ is a state school, only school in the city. These points favour UMDNJ.Fees im not much concerned.

I am concerned about getting a job and keep chances of specialization. Overall i guess, i need more info from u guys cos im hearing abt low clinical exposure n difficult transition to dental office/private practice from BU.

All the more reason to attend UMDNJ... its probably a few hundred thousand dollars cheaper...BU is the new NYU when it comes to COA... So save yourself and your family a few dollars

I would like to mention im accepted in advanced standing DMD ; i need info compared to DMD cos UMDNJ asks us to join nas 3rd yr DMD .....so equivalent to DMD ....n in BU ...all together a new program for Advanced standing.


SO DMD info needed ...n also i wd compare to Advanced standing ....this info ......

may be to late but i'm a 3rd year at UMDNJ and the clinicals at UMDNJ are amazing. I started with crowns in the first month of clinic. The seniors I know last year didn't have any problems finding jobs or specialities considering they were the class after the scandal. By the way, many of the others school have scandals too so you may want to check into that too. My friend at BU likes it too. Your choice. I always say cheaper.
