I am going to add one last school to my application, and it is either UMDNJ or Kansas City COM. Which one should I add? for somebody with only a 3.0 GPA, in which one would I have the most realistic chance of getting into? I do have plenty of reearch experience.... would that impress the ADCOM at UMDNJ? So which one should I apply to folks....KC or NJ??

3 is much below the ave at either school i believe... so you may want to call each school and talk to them about this...

If you're not a NJ resident, then I would expect a 3.0 would put you WAY out of the running before you even start.

GPA is below average anywhere you apply (save for the Caribbean....another topic, sorry), but your odds will be better at private schools with large class sizes than at public schools with small ones....

Hi HussainGQ,

Maybe you should apply to both? It is cheeper if you apply to more than one school and you increase your chances. I applied to both of them and haven't heard a word yet (and my gpa isn't far from yours).

If you have to choose between one then choose a close school to where you live. If you are in the general area they may be more likely to interview you, also travel to the school will be cheeper for you.

And if that all fails... flip a coin...

I would wonder why you are only asking about these two schools. If you have an area in which you are compensating for, I would apply to as many prive and in-state schools as possibe in order to maximize your odds. If money becomes an issue, you can easily slim down the choices by the secondaries you receive (since I suspect you may not get them from all school--although I could be wrong) and choose to return. Good luck.

I think the OP was saying that he was applying to "one last school" meaning that he has already applied to a lot of them.

Hussain-apply to the school that doesn't bias or biases less against out-of-state students. And, talk to an admissions advisor about what they are looking for -and the best way to maximize yourself in the secondary. Good luck.
