Ok so EVERYONE talks about how UMDNJ has been involved in many scandals over the past few years. Especiialy the insurance fraud thing and the sharing of patients by the students. Some people say it makes no difference but some people say I should definately stay away from that school. UMDNJ is a beautiful school with a reasonable tuition, should I really stay away from it or is this whole scandal thing gonna fade away within the next few years?

It's nothing to worry about. They just actually cracked down on it so it made the headlines. I do believe that sort of thing could easily happen at other schools and though I won't say it happens often it still most likely does here and there.

I was told by current students (who were NOT guilty of the corruption) that the guilty parties needed the extra credits because UMDNJ requires a lot of credits to graduate. Whether or not this is true I do not know (though they DO require more credits than many other schools). Also bear in mind that if you are accepted into dental school you should be fully prepared for a demanding courseload.

I still believe that clinically UMDNJ is a great school and I really liked the facilities. The staff/faculty is VERY welcoming and there seems to be a good sense of community there.

That being said, perhaps someone can share the other side of the story.
