It's all good. The more the merrier. It is my work account so I think as long as I don't excede 10 MB, I'm good. Were there no other emails between April 22 and May 27? When Katie added me back to the list, she said I missed some emails (I know one included the dates of our holidays), but she didn't have them and wasn't sure if someone else did.

If anyone else is as forgetful as I am, they want the immunization form and all that stuff by June 13 (tomorrow). I realized it last night, and I think I'll be mailing it tomorrow. I offered to fax it but they declined....so apparently they're not too concerned.

Back to "work." After a month and half, I got my own phone and voice mail yesterday! Since it took them a week to get me a working computer, I guess I should be greatful for the phone. Now I just get all these people calling with the wrong number. What the heck?

hmmm i looked at my acceptance letter and it says immunizations are due by orientation. where is the 6/13 message?

from my understanding..

you don't REALLY need the immunization form DONE by tomorrow, just make sure you're in the process of getting it take care of. Especially since the Hep B shot takes somewhere around 7 months total. 1 month between 1st and 2nd shot. and 6mths between 2nd and 3rd i think.

just make sure you get your White coat order form and Gradcare appliation into them asap. I think you can even fax it in.

did you all sign up for football tickets?

The lady seemed pretty adamant about not faxing. She seemed to prefer for it to be a few days late rather than via fax.

As for immunizations, I won't have my Hep B series done even when school starts (they don't mind), but I think it might be a good idea to send in a copy of the form with whatever you have....just my $.02. And it's 5months between the 2nd and 3rd Hep B.

I got my season ticket! It seems like we'll have a lot of good home games this year 🙂

haha not sure i'm getting football tix - i'm going to be working a bit at my current job while in school (1. $$ 2. research project for thesis. woot) so my money is tight and so is my time. football is not a priority at this point. unless you wanna buy my season tix. 😉

got my immuno titers today... going back for the results and the TB test next wednesday. faxing the white coat/grad care/address forms tomorrow. funny, the lady i talked to was gung-ho-fax-it-quick re: immunizations. 😕 good to know there isn't a panic about it, though, on the part of the admissions staff. thanks sunny. 😀
 
When I called and asked, they said the titers are only neccessary if your doctor thinks it is neccessary. I didn't get any, but if they say I need one later, I can get it done then.....
 
Yo dudes, what's up with the challenge program waiver stuff? It's on the checklist for materials to send in by 6/13, but i don't have any flyer or anything about it. is it missing from my packet or what? does anyone know if it's online for me to print and fill out?

I think it is the program that starts early in the summer. Either way, when I called and asked they said that I shouldn't worry about it because they haven't sent the form.

i love ann arbor in the summer... (other than the fact that it's pure "construction season" around town 🙄 - but hey, i bike most places anyway.) ... anyone else here yet? 🙂
 
as for WL news, i believe the mvmt is slow but steady. some people have definitely gotten in off the list in the last 2-3 wks, according to Katie & April.

i sent an updated letter of recc a week ago and it was added to my file. i'm still patiently waiting and hoping... 😎
 
hey folks, some of us are already here in ann arbor, and YES i've decided to join in on the pre-mat program b/c they freaking pay you! pretty sweet. plus we are dissecting right now and there are only 2 of us per body as opposed to the 6/bod during the school year.
ANYWAYS- whoever's here during the summer--- you guys should hang out with us! email [email protected] to be added to the summer email list. couple days ago they played ultimate, yesterday they went out to drink margaritas, and tonight is a potluck.
tomorrow- i think the 8 future m1s in this program are going out to dominicks.

i got a 44 on the mcat and retook it because i knew it wasn't up to my full potential. i almost took my own life after receiving an A- in my 2nd semester of physics lab. i slept with the TA (even though he smelled really bad, was a member of the SCA and was super into archery) to bring that back up to an A so as not to ruin my 4.0

i stole ochem experimental yields as an undergrad and i surreptitiously broke the lab glassware of the pair next to me.

i will die, i mean DIE! if i don't make AOA.

if you need me, i'll be the one in a full dress suit every day in class, just to insure i never make a bad impression. you never know where you'll meet connections. i'll also be the one always asking "is this on the exam?" and sabotaging your cadaver.

watch out man, i'm a vicious mo-fo! :meanie:

I just realized that in August I might be meeting a gunner for the first time in my life. At my school of 15,000 people, there were maybe 120 pre-meds, so I've never had the experience. I've known people who work hard to get high grades, I've known people to cheat to get B's, but I've never known anyone who is so psyco that they go all out in trying to make themselves look better. After hearing about gunners for so long on this board, I'm sort of looking forward to seeing what a real life gunner is like.

I'm about as likely to win the nobel prize as I am to be AOA or junior AOA, but I'm trying to convince myself that I need to work hard next year since it is the first time I will be paying tuition to go to school (and a hefty one at that). Makes me feel obligated almost to work. I estimate that mentality will last a whole week.

I guess I should get back to "work."
 
I'm with you Sunny. I think I am the anti-gunner, in that I gave about 20% effort during my undergrad years.

Do people play basketball or soccer up there? I give over 50% effort in those areas...
 
well then sunny, look no further than SP for all your gunner needs and aspirations! :laugh: the boy is a serious freak! and he'll likely be living yonder in med center court, right by you! 😱 so watch your car tires! :scared:
 
I guess I'll be able to put a check next to "meet gunner" on my list of things to do before I die after I meet SP.

I can't say I was a slacker in undergrad though as Jacobim implied. Engineering is all about group projects, and I was plagued with bad groups my sophomore and junior years, so I definitely worked hard when I had to pick up the slack. In two classes, I knew people struggled with the projects, so if I figured it out, I would post a photocopy in the computer lab or study lounge because I hated the professors of those two classes. Man, I hate those guys. It didn't help that I insulted one of them to his face repeatedly in front of the class of 200 students.

Definite "gunner" qualities.

Can you tell I'm bored?

sp may or may not be a gunner. i have actually no idea. i think he seems pretty cool but really have no basis for my assertion other than an anonymous internet message forum. 😀 i have been picking/joking thus far. 😀

i've been lurking on this thread, in envy, for quite sometime now... congrats to all of you who will be starting at UMich in a couple weeks!

i, for one, am still waiting for the good word from Katie Horne. just wanted to know if anyone heard anything lately about WL movement. Katie (on email) said that, since Aug 4 is just around the corner, it's not looking too good for us on the WL.
did anyone else hear diferently?

I got my official rejection from UMich while I was on vacation! :clap:

They "regret to inform me that it is apparent that they will not be able to offer me a place in the class of 2007." :laugh: So Muck Fichigan, Ann Arbor's a *****, and all that fun stuff. 😉

The Hawkeyes play Michigan on October 4th. Any Wolverines who want to make the road trip - we have a futon in the basement for any who want a place to crash. 😀
