is the passport photo required of applicants for a complete app at umich?

i thought it wasn't because the status page says they require it "at the time of interview."

but i hear rumours saying otherwise. whats the deal?

They will ask for it with a separate letter pre-interview. I sent mine in like 2 days before I left because I never got the letter and I thought bringing one would be sufficient. When I found out they needed a photo and some "technical standards" form pre-interview, I asked if it would be ok for me to just bring them and they said "no." It was all pretty silly. I never did give them the technical standards form (I will be happy to give them one, but I think it's obvious at this point that I am not handicapped) and I don't think they had my photo the day of my interview. They never asked for them. I got accepted, as did those who handed in their photos the day of the interview.

So in summary, yes they want a photo and a form they will send you in the mail before your interview. If you don't comply it really doesn't seem to matter.
