Hi,

I am an OMFS resident at UMKC.

We have a single open position (categorical) PGY-1 right now. We are looking for a 6 year candidate for this spot. Minimum CBSE score is 62.

While we also will consider a 4 year applicant with a lower CBSE score, we would prefer a 6 year candidate if possible.

Clarifying ahead of time: we are not a toxic program. We are busy though. The previous resident left for private practice after realizing this isn't what they wanted.

Please reply on this thread and I will message you. Thanks.

We also LOVE people who have completed a Non-categorical internship. whole heartedly.

I appreciate your optimism to come. We won't be able to sponsor a visa for you to come here in the timeframe that we want a resident. you will need to take the cbse to come.

Hi,

I'm noncat trained at a super busy 6 year program, then matched and completed PGY1-3 which included medical school, passed Step 1 and 2, and earned my MD with honors last month. I am actively seeking a 4 year position. I am prepared to relocate to KC to start pretty much asap.

Thanks

Hi! I’m definitely interested. I completed a non-categorical year and I’m currently a PGY-2 categorical resident in a high-volume program. I’d love the chance to connect, explore potential opportunities, and share my CV with your team.
Thank you

Hi

Could you dm our email, I can forward my CV.
Thanks

we only had 1 non-cat last year. we usually had 4. He did leave but if he stayed 3 more months we would have taken him into our 4 year spot. He was a good resident and a good person. Some people value their family thats far away more than becoming a surgeon. Others don't.

Position still available?

Do you sponsor visas?
Not for this year I’m aware it’s too late but for the upcoming cycle?
