ok, I just wanted to let u guys all know this.
I just called AADSAS to ask about the essay jamming problem when u go to print app. They said that it will all look like that when they print out the application and send them to schools.
So, in our app packet, our essays are not divided into paragraphs, instead it will be in one big paragraph jammed together!
I think the readers will be confused but AADSAS says they have been doing that for years now.
I already submitted mine yesterday and kinda worried..

You do not need to be worried, that is how they are all submitted

This problem is easily solved by pressing "enter" button 2 times on your keyboard after each paragraph (i.e. having an extra empty line between paragraphs)🙂

IMO, you are contributing greatly to this site and more importantly to me 🙂

I tried that many times using different programs though..did not work.
Plz let me know if you guys see separate paragraphs in print app screen.

Thats what I did. Put an extra space and it came out fine.

well, since i already submitted it can't be fixed.
I made a new account just to try again and see if it works..it does not work.
Am i the only one having trouble with this? 🙁
I tried safari, firefox, word, textedit, etc..
It just won't let my essay come out in separate paragraphs..
Also, when I called aadsas earlier the rep said that all applications will come out like that when printed..so i am confused.
If i am the only one having this trouble, i really want this fixed....🙁

Mine is fine. I just made an extra line between paragraphs and it turned out fine!

Cheers.

After you finish your PS on Word copy and paste it into notepad, Click on format then wordwrap. After that just hit enter after each paragraph for a space and copy and paste it into AADSAS. AADSAS shows everything perfectly fine for me.

But what about when you look at it in the form that it will be printed in??

How do we make an indentation for each paragraph? pressing spacebar 10 times doesn't solve the problem.

Pressing enter for me twice is not working for me either when I print. Does anyone have any suggestions why this may not work. These are the steps I've been taking:

1) Type doc in word format.
2) Copy and paste onto Notepad
3) Format and wordwrap on Notepad
4) Press enter for extra empty line
5) Copy and paste on AADSAS

I've tried many variations, and still see one paragraph when I print the application. Any suggestions would greatly help!

Thanks everyone.

You are just going to have to face the fact that it won't allow for an indentation

Thanks for the reply DiscoBalls. However, I was kind of looking for some constructive suggestions.

Does anyone know how to come italicized words won't show up? or more importantly how to get them to show up? ie. for a paper's title

It's text-only, so I don't think you can do any type of formatting on your personal statements.

when i hit the preview button, it was all properly formatted. but when i printed out my application it was just 1 giant paragraph. I tried all those suggestions but none of them worked...i dont think it will be a big problem if the majority of applicants are facing this problem, but i will probably take a little away from the flow of the essay.

OK. I think this will help.
I talked to a aadsas rep the other day once again about this.
He said that there is a program problem or something causing the print app view essays to be jammed to one para.
So I guess that everyone is having this problem.
But the actual app that will be sent to schools will show the way the essay was submitted, therefore showing diff paragraphs.
I hope this helps.
