I have been working on the UNC secondary and am having a lot of trouble. How long do they expect our answers to be for the open ended questions such as:

-Give the reasons for your interest in dentistry and for selecting dentistry as a profession:

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah that was a tough one to complete. It took me about a week to finish. Some of mines were several paragraphs long. In my opinion, just answer them as completely as possible and maintain conciseness and consistency throughout the application. I wish you luck! 👍

I think this is good advice.

It's good your taking some time on it. I did mine in a day and it was not a good idea. Don't repeat what you put on your primary application. This is your chance to separate yourself from everyone who "wants to be their own boss and work with their hands". And, if you want to work in underserved areas, LET THAT BE KNOWN.

Thank you all for the comments. They really helped. I am still working on the application as this is my top choice school.

For anyone still working on the application, I found it helpful to combine some of the questions and treat it like an outline for new personal statement.

Some of the questions like this one "Please List- Honors or Special Achievements:" seem to be repeated from AADSAS. Is it OK to repeat what I said for those types of questions?
