UNC selection meeting

It is my understanding that UNC postponed last Wednesday's (1/28) selection meeting until this coming Wednesday due to their snow-delay that day. Has anyone else heard about this? Considering that UNC only meets twice to select candidates, it is amazing that starting the day TWO hours late pushes back a meeting of this importance SEVEN days.

I guess it's probably due to faculty schedule, somehow they've chosen wednesdays for the meeting. If I'm not mistaken, the first meeting was on Wed. Dec. 3 as well.

You're correct about Dec. 3rd, however that one ended up taking up Thursday (12/4) as well. With another ice-storm forecast to hit here this Monday, maybe it'll get pushed out to the following Wednesday (then it'll be almost March before we're notified!)? I'm obviously anxious, however, I've got a couple more interviews later this month that I haven't bought tickets for yet and have been hoping not to take.

I hope the ice-storm won't hit us again. I don't know where your interviews are, but AirTran offers pretty good deals on standby tickets. $50 per leg, not that bad at all. Hope you don't have to do that. Have you been accepted to any other schools (second choice)?

Someone will tell us to PM or whatever shortly I'm sure. No, I haven't been accepted to any other schools. I applied to five schools, had 2 interviews in before Christmas and have 2 later this month. The fifth school tells me I'm in the pile "to review" (public school, I understand). I?ve received no acceptances, no denials, nothing. That?s both good and bad I guess. Decent DAT and grades (22AA/21PAT, 3.7/3.6Sci), resident of NC my entire life. Didn?t make the cut at UNC in Dec, praying that I can get in this go around. I know its competitive, but come on!
