Congrats and good luck to everyone that got an interview for this Sat. at UNC. My question is: Where are all the instate applicants?:eyebrow:

I'm at ECU and we have one that got the first interview date and predents only shows one!!! I think ADEA reported last year that they had 266 NC applicants, and interviewed 200 of them. If they do these numbers again, then there's going to be 200 interviews on the second interview date! 😱 Makes it a little hard to stand out from the crowd doesn't it.

Are you sure that UNC only has two interview dates....that doesn't make much sense since all other schools have interview dates every week up until and through the Dec 1st deadline. I got all of my application material excluding my Committee letter in to them by July and my letter got there Sept 2nd and they just updates my AADSAS last week saying that my application was under review. Maybe they are just running a little late this cycle. I am pretty sure they have interview dates every week though. I don't think any school has the facilities/faculty to interview more than 10-15 people at a clip.

no, they really do have mass interview sessions. read the interview feedback. they only have 2, 3 tops, interview dates per cycle.

Yea, good question about all of the in-staters....I asked about that a few weeks ago. I am not sure about how many interview sessions they have, but I do know that they include a large number of applicants (upwards to about 80).

Correction: 4 Interview Dates. If you look at UNC's website under admissions timeline. interview dates are Sept. 20th, Oct. 11th, Nov. 15th, and Jan. 10

still waiting to hear!...hopefully we'll hear soon for those who haven't yet. i've been complete since early-mid august (still no AADSAS update)..but fingers crossed. Good luck.

you and me both...none of my schools have even been updated on aadsas. i'm getting emails from them, and have even been rejected by one school (via email of course) yet my aadsas status does not even confirm that my application has been recieved, including UNC...haha...go figure.

i live in GA now, but i am originaly from NC so i would love to have an excuse to move back there. 😎

I've seen "Under Review" so long on my status that I think it's burned into the screen when I cut it off. At least no rejections yet. Maybe it's easier to mass email everyone a "Dear Applicant" rejection letter at once after everyone's app. is in.😛

The majority of invites for the first interview date are for out of staters. Some in-staters get invites, though. Look forward to meeting some of you tonight.

Yeah, I had an interview at the first date last year and was only one of two (or so I was told) from my university there that day. But there are loads of folks in this year's class from the same school, so I assume they had later interview dates and got in just fine. 🙂

sarah... definitely looking forward to it too!! it's funny.. i think alot of people are going to be going around saying "so... what's your SDN username?" haha.

quick question, if you don't mind (anyone who's gone to this in year's past, I'd love to hear your thoughts too)...

by "informal dress attire" what exactly does "informal" mean. are jeans acceptable (say with a button-up shirt or polo), or does informal mean dress pants and a dress shirt? the definition of "informal" in my mind seems to be completely different than wikipedia's definition.

THANKS! 🙂
