I'm named an alternate at UNC. Does anyone know about the process? I know it's "unranked" - whatever that means. I also know they can call until aug. 24th to notify. However, that seems unlikely. I would imagine most people have made their decision by mid summer. It's tough b/c this is my first choice school but I have to continue with plans to attend BU where I was accepted. My ultimate goal is to be a DDS, not go to UNC. But...dang, it would be nice. Any thoughts???

I'm an alternate as well. I was accepted elsewhere but I'd really like to go to UNC. I hope people hurry and make their decisions. I know last year they ended up taking most of the people from the waitlist for the class. One guy got offered a spot the week before class started...

I meant that my ultimate goal was to be a dentist - regardless of what school I attend. But I would prefer to go to my home school - UNC.
