So I get what noncompetitive and allosteric is but what's uncompetitive? I keep reading back and forth on the net but they just all seem to be the same w/ each other...

Don't worry about it, its a little beyond the scope of the DAT. Its a type of inhibitor that can only bind to the enzyme-substrate complex and subsequently lowers Km and Vmax. Again, competitive and noncompetitive are only the ones you need to know on the DAT. Do a little searching around on SDN, and feralis has an extremely well explanation on this topic.

Yeah I took the DAT and they asked nothing about allosteric but it's good to know

Noncompetitive is when a substance binds to an enzyme anywhere other than the active site and changes the conformation of the enzyme so it is inhibited from binding its substrate to the active site. The only difference it has from competitive is that in competitive a substance that mimics the substrate binds to the ACTIVE SITE and changes the conformation. Hope that helps.
